Wedding food
We’ve been thinking a lot about weddings recently, with lots of bookings coming in for summer 2014 and even some for this summer, from couples who don’t want a long engagement. We’re often asked whether wedding food can ever be really good, when there are so many obstacles to overcome: temporary kitchens, large numbers and the vagaries of the British summer. And, sad to say, lots of wedding food can be a bit run-of -the-mill, with rather dry stuffed chicken breasts a perennial favourite. We think that the key to the perfect wedding breakfast is to treat it as though we are cooking for a dinner party – albeit the biggest, most important you’ll ever host! The same rules still apply – fresh, local ingredients with an emphasis on flavour and presentation that is simple but elegant.
We have catered for lots of weddings, each with its own style. We have done everything from grand, plated, three-course meals with canapés beforehand and petits fours afterwards to informal, friendly weddings with a buffet of sea trout, tarts and salads. Even an elegant tea party with tiered plates of cucumber sandwiches and fairy cakes.
Whatever the bride and groom choose, it is the most important day of their lives and we think the food should always reflect that.
Every time we we think about how many hours you guys put in, and the wonderful food you produced, we’re just filled with immense gratitude. It was the crowning glory to a wonderful day and has been the subject of endless compliments from scores of friends and relatives.

Just wanted to write to thank you both for the excellent job you did for our wedding. We both thought that the food was perfect, everything was exactly what we imagined except better. We were so happy with every aspect of the job you guys did and can’t thank you enough. It was a great success.

Elizabeth and Charlotte organised brilliant food and waiting staff at my daughter’s wedding last July. We have a number of meetings with them – and delicious tastings too – before deciding on what we wanted – a very smart champagne cream tea with lovely homemade jams and locally sourced ingredients. They and their staff came the day before to make sure everything was set up and on the day they were terrific – very organised and efficient – it was very nice for me to be able to enjoy the day too and not have to think about the details.
They have also done great food for us at two stand-up lunch parties for about 50 people each with a constant stream of delicious bite-sized eats.
They are lovely people to work with – helpful and organised as well as creative cooks!
